Not my two front teeth, because if I needed those something would have had to go terrible wrong the past few days!
Anyways, even though I’m 27, I still make a Christmas list. Well, a couple actually. I try to make two different ones, one for my parents, and one for my in-laws, so I a) don’t wind up with a bunch of the same stuff and b) can get a bigger variety.
Unfortunately, as I get older, I find it a little harder each year to make a list. I don’t know why-just that each year it seems harder to find things that I really want. I’m generally good with gift cards to some of my favorite places (examples- Kitchen Conservatory, Archiver’s, Fleet Feet/Big River Running), but I know some people don’t like to just give gift cards.
So somethings I want:
I have been obsessed with these boots since I saw Natalie Portman wearing them in “Black Swan”. Plus they look so comfortable! And while I totally hated Uggs when they first came out, they’ve really grown on me.
And how stinking cute are these! Also made by Ugg. I saw them in person at a trunk show and they are gorgeous. They actually come in three colors, the two pictured and then a lighter tan/chestnut color. If I could buy/get all three pairs it would make my life practically.
This is a OmniGrid cutting mat. I want the biggest size they make (18″ x 24″) so that I can cut fabrics at home. I have a mini cutting set which works when I want to do little pieces, but I’d also like to have a big mat and ruler so that I can do regular size squares too.
And because I’m a total nerd, a fixed 50 mm 1.8 lens for my camera. This particular one is a Cannon lens (because I use a Cannon camera). I get good shots with my two lenses I have now, but I’ve heard such wonderful things about the 50 mm that I simply must have one.
Which one do you think would cost more, the Ugg riding boots or the Cannon lens? I’ll give you a hint-you can wear them on your feet!
I’m not a total brand snob, but I do believe in paying for quality things. My closet is a total mix of brands-everything from Target to Von Maur is represented in there (if you don’t have a Von Maur, feel lucky. I could easily blow my whole paycheck in that place. A very “high-end” department store). I want shoes that will last, especially if they are ones I wind up wearing everyday, like my work flats. I bought them in February and have worn them pretty much every work day since then. And they just recently got a hole in the bottom. I might be able to patch them up, we will have to see.
So that’s my Christmas list. There are some other things that would be nice to have, but I’ll have to keep those in mind for birthdays/anniversaries/next Christmas.
Hope everyone has a great weekend! And don’t forget to set your clocks back!
Do you still make Christmas lists? What are some things you want this year?
