RunFuel Giveaway!

Hello hello!

I’m pleased to bring y’all my first ever giveaway, which I am calling the RunFuel Giveaway, since I’m giving away fuel for running!

First off, the goods:

The winner of this giveaway will receive the following- 1 tube of lemon-lime Nuun, 3 packets of Gu gels, in vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry banana, 1 package of strawberry Gu shot bloks, and a sticker from my favorite running shop and race service provider, Big River Running Company.

The Details-

In order to enter, just leave a comment on this post telling me who your biggest running/sports hero/inspiration is and why! One entry per person (strictly!), winner will be chosen randomly. The contest will run until Wednesday at Midnight (central time) and the winner will be announced Thursday here on the blog!

My running hero is Kara Goucher, she is just amazing! But I do get inspired by Karena and Katrina form Tone it Up, as well as Sarah OUal, Skinny Runner, and Haute Running Mamma! Love those ladies!

*Note: This giveaway is sponsered solely by myself and this blog. Nuun, Gu, & Big River don’t know I exist!

My running hero is Dean Karnazes. The amount of running he does is amazing. I’m currently reading his book 50/50 and I especially love the way he finds new runners inspiring. Being as talented and accomplished as he is, I find it inspiring that he finds people like me (training for my first marathon) inspiring to him, an ultramarathoner. I cry every time I read a little out of his book at how inspiring his stories are! Also, his story has made me EXCITED for training. I was dreading it a little, just the amount of running I would have to do. But reading his book has made me excited for my first marathon and many more to come after that!

SkinnyRunner and Monica of RunEatRepeat are my favs but my true inspirations are runners who can’t run for themselves. I run for them and to Remember!

Not sure if I can enter as I live in New Zealand, but figured I’d comment anyway 🙂

My biggest running inspiration is my Mum! She used to be overweight, and definitely not a runner – 7 years & a bunch of training later & she has completed 3 Ironman races, & countless triathlons. In October she will compete in the Triathlon World Champs which are being held in Auckland (NZ). She’s 56, way fitter than me, her 27 year old daughter. Truly inspiring, which is why I joined WW in Feb & started running myself 🙂

My hero is Haile Gebrselassie – running legend who as a child growing up on a farm used to run ten kilometres to school every morning, and the same back every evening. This left him with a distinctive running posture, with his left arm crooked as if still holding his school books!!! In spite of this he won two Olympic Golds as well as many marathons, with a world record 2:03:59. What a legend!!!

I just started running a few months ago, so I don’t have any running hero’s yet. But I do think Katie from Runs for Cookies is pretty motivational as I am on a weight loss journey myself and would love to have running be a tool to get me to my goal weight.
