It’s only January 16th, but I’m already over this snow nonsense. I’ve got a lot of stuff to get done, and the snow just hinders any progress I could be making!
Not totally true-but that’s what it feels like.
Since my last post, we had some pretty chilly weather here, and as a result, wound up taking on a new temporary dog. He’s actually the brother to my Kaycee, and he hasn’t exactly had the greatest life, so when the opportunity to take him somewhere better came up, we decided to bring him down to my work to live here. Which was going to happen in the spring. But early this month, sub-zero temps where going to hit and he was going to be stranded outside, so we went ahead and brought him to our house. Which is a good thing considering we now have to go through a heartworm treatment, which requires 30 days of crate rest. And it has to be done before he can be neutered, so then there’s that to deal with.
All in all he’s been pretty good about being in the house, despite having been outside his whole life, and when he gets to come down here he will have inside and outside access, as well as tons of people loving on him.
So that’s been a little hectic. I need to spend this weekend cleaning things up so that his kennel and everything is nice a clean for when he has to stay in it all the time. Heartworms are NASTY, and it is so important to use a preventative every month, so I encourage you to do that!
I signed up for the Fleet Feet Ton of Fun program. It’s a 12-week weight loss program with incentives if you hit certain weight loss markers. Plus they are offering group activities and the like, so maybe this will help me stay on track for at least 12 weeks. I don’t have any races lined up, although I am looking at a 7k in March, and actually following a training plan to see how that helps.
Yoga has been going fairly decent. I haven’t been as much as I’d like, and I skipped last night in favor of coming home and doing some stuff around the house. Which worked out well, considering my FIL’s truck decided to pitch a fit while he was on his way to a call and needed someone to come pick him up. So I did manage to get a few things done, but not nearly what I need to get done. Tax season for me starts on Monday, so I really need to buckle down and get with the program.
I realize also, as I type out all the shit that I need to accomplish this weekend, that I am getting a facial tomorrow and I am really looking forward to that. I *love* Carla at Catala Facial Retreat, she does such a good job. Now if I could just stop being a lazy bum long enough to actually use the products she recommended, then I’d probably be in good shape.
Well, it looks like the “snow showers” and “flurries” finally quit. So I’m going to sign off of here and actually accomplish something before going home today…
