Tomorrow, I’m running the Shamrock Shuffle. I loved this little race last year and am so glad it came back for a second year. They made some course changes, and it looks like they’re also expanding their post race party a little bit, which I’m sad I can’t attend due to my jam-packed busy Saturday. But there is still time left to register, so if you are looking for something fun to do-I highly suggest it!
Work for the past few days has been beyond boring. I’m going to be taking over accounts payable and receivable and moving into my own office, so we’ve hired a new girl to take over my basic receptionist duties. Unfortunately, we managed to get nearly everything we could possibly have to do done, so there isn’t much to do other than sit around and twiddle our thumbs. But hopefully soon I will be making the switch to the new office and she will at my old desk and then I can at least start training her in the remaining job duties.
I went and saw an allergists last month and have since started taking a whole host of allergy meds and getting allergy shots. So that’s on the schedule for after work along with my packet pickup. I was also diagnosed with exercise-induced asthma, so now I get to carry a little inhaler with me to my races. And if I have a cough. Not to mention eye drops and a nose spray. Which tastes absolutely awful. I don’t understand how something could taste so bad. They know it’s going to run down the back of your throat, so why wouldn’t they give it a more pleasant taste?
Now it’s time to sit here and be bored for another, oh, 6 hours. There are only so many training plans one can make…
Skipping the post-race party? You can’t really be that busy!?!
Unfortunately, yes! I have the race, then go to the store to get groceries and a birthday present, attend party to give said birthday present @ noon, then I have a wedding to attend that evening. I can probably cruise around for all of 10 minutes, but I wish I could stay longer!
