I know I haven’t been very good about posting this week, but I’ve been busy and have had a cold now that I am starting to get over. Of course I would come down with a cold the week before my half!
Speaking of my half, I got my VIP sticker from Brooks to have access to their RunHappy experience. I also got some sweet new Brooks kicks. I got the PureCadence shoes from their PureProject line. Basically, a minimalist shoe designed to be more like a foot than a shoe. I ran in them the other day and really liked them.
I am getting excited for the half, but also quite nervous since I didn’t get in the mileage that I truly needed to be fully prepared. I really have no one to blame but myself, but hopefully it won’t be too bad. I’m more prepared than I was for my last one, so I’m crossing my fingers and my goal is to just finish in the allotted time frame.
I’m already hacking out my fitness plans for after my half. I’ll probably take a week off from running, and just start focusing on strength training. I bought Jillian Michaels “Yoga Meltdown”, which has two different “levels” of power yoga routines that last 30 minutes each. I plan on getting up and doing that in the morning, and then running 4 to 5 days a week and doing strength training 2 to 3 days a week. Plus eating better and what nots.
My weekend was pretty good. On Saturday AC and I had a girl’s day out and went several places. We ended the night with sushi and edamame at the Drunken Fish, which was delish! Sunday I spent most of the morning cleaning (which I got *almost* completely done!) and then I headed out to do my first photo shoot. I stopped by the pumpkin patch on my way there and picked up a couple of pumpkins to carve, and then spent about an hour and a half doing pictures with some of the sweetest dogs I know! Then I got home, made some delicious chicken and noodles, started editing pictures and discovered I was getting sick. Hopefully, I’m feeling much better come Sunday!
