Going Out With A Bang (maybe…)

Yeah so, 2011 is pretty much over. Two and a half days and it’s a goner.

Might be one for the history books, folks. I might have to lament and ponder on all the going ons of the last 12 months.

But first-Christmas Recap Time!!

It was nice having the long weekend I suppose, although mine actually wound up being a day longer, because of sick dogs and not feeling good myself. Let’s see, Wednesday night we took the kiddos down to historic Main street to see the various Santas and Christmas characters they had, as well as confront some rude-ass punks on their piss poor behavior. Hey, let’s not act like totally dip shits because we think this guy is cute and actually be smart about our behavior around 20 billion other people. End of rant. Then we went to Cracker Barrel, and had tasty old timey foods. If I already covered this, please read ahead as I do not remember anything I put in my last post.

So then Thursday I went and hung out with Miss A, after having dinner with M’s family up from Louisiana. We made my SIL Christmas present, and then a new shirt for me, simply because I was there and she had some awesome new vinyls that I hadn’t seen. Friday I tried to clean some, but wasn’t exactly what you’d call successful, and then we went over to M’s cousin’s place for family dinner and to open gifts and such there.

Saturday we got up bright and early and went to shoot skeet at Blackhawk. I improved my score to 27 out of 100 (give me a break, this is only my third time going shooting), which was amazing because the course was really tough. Then it was off to the Krumbly for our annual Christmas Eve lunch. Food was pretty good and I was starving by the time we got there. After that, I went home and took a shower, trying to get rid of my pounding headache before we went over to M’s parents for Christmas dinner #2. There we had dinner with some close family friends and opened more gifts, and had some delicious Pioneer Woman mashed potatoes (OMG those things are the best!). Then home to take the kiddos their presents, and hang out with the neighbors. And make a Christmas present.

Procrastinate much?

Sunday was Christmas-first gifts at our house where I received a Kindle Fire (love!), a gorgeous bracelet, a teddy bear, a half marathon ornament, running socks, and brown gravy mix. Then over to M’s parents for breakfast and more present opening. There I got a 1/4″ foot for my sewing machine, a few sewing notions, an ornament, a super cute mug, and a cutting mat and ruler, a head band, and a couple other things.

After hanging out there for a bit, we headed over to my parents house where I got a yoga towel, my cardy Ugg boots I was wanting, my new 50 mm lens for my camera, and a couple of other small things, two awesome wine glasses, a couple of gift cards, snowman pajama pants (love!), and some other odds and ends. All in all a very successful Christmas for me 🙂

I was just perusing another site, www.failbook.com, and I can NOT believe that there are actually children/young adults out there who are pissed at their parents because they didn’t get and iPhone or a car for Christmas. Pissed to the point that they are calling the parents horrible names via facebook and twitter. What the hell is wrong with people these days?

Somebody needs to hand out a serious ass whooping to some of these kids!
