Umm, yeah. I’ve been away from blogging for a little bit…whoops! Apologies for sure.

So where have I been? Not any where fantastic. Mostly I’ve just been busy and boring as heck, so I didn’t want anyone to cry tears of boredom or anything drastic. So I just laid low.

I do have some fun bits of info that’s happened here recently. Last Friday I went and got my ear pierced three times in the cartilage. And naturally, just like everything else in my life, it was certainly an adventure.

I went to Iron Age, in the Loop (if you’re from round these parts, you know where the Loop is!). First things first, I managed to follow my GPS and make it down there without any major upsets. Success! Then I found parking for $3, so I didn’t have to attempt to park on the street and the nice attendant let me park and then get some smaller bills to pay her with. Because of that good karma, I decided to give a couple dollars to the homeless dude, because I haven’t ever done such a thing before and it felt right. Yeah, he’s probably going to use it on bad things, but at least he won’t have to steal or anything. Then I made my way to the studio, and got all squared away to get my ear pierced.

This is where things got real fun.

Now most people can’t stand to watch themselves get stuck with a needle for anything. They can look back after and be fine, or not watch at all and be fine, but I’m totally different. I HAVE to see the needle go in. And if I don’t and I look back, I start to hyperventilate.

Just a little back story.

So, I was fine until he capped the last ball on, and then I started to break out in a sweat. A cold sweat. The hyperventilation sweat. But I thought I could bring it back, so I got up and checked out my ear in the mirror. Bad idea. I had to sit down because I was feeling a little light-headed, and then the next thing I know I’m getting sick because of the dizziness, and then I have to lay down on the dude’s chair and hang out and drink a Coke for a while. Talk about embarrassing. But all’s well now.

Then Saturday I got to hang out with M all day and take pictures, which is one of my favorite things to do. Sunday was kind of a bust, because I didn’t accomplish very much at home.

All in all it’s been a pretty nice little break from blogging. Plenty of time to get back on track and get my mind right. These past couple of weeks have been a bit of a struggle, but I’m ready to start fresh. Just a few more weeks until vacation anyways!
