It’s been pretty quiet around here since Monday. Other than shooting my bow on Tuesday, I haven’t done anything out of the ordinary or gone running so I don’t have much to report. I did move the target back to 20 yards and get some practice in at that distance. Anything farther than that would be a little pointless since my draw isn’t very high, so it isn’t going to send the arrow very far with much striking force. So for now I will just hang out in the 10 to 20 yard range and work on building my draw strength and increase the weight.
One thing I don’t think I’ve ever talked much about on here is traveling. I never really thought about all the places I’d like to go until my sister started to travel more and go see some pretty neat stuff. She’s been to Ireland and Germany, and a whole host of other places. I don’t have a lot of fund to travel with at the moment, so some of the bigger destinations are a little out of reach right now, but I’m hoping as I pay off my debts I will be able to venture to more exciting places.
I’ve been through a decent portion of the United States, thus far. There are a few places that I want to go, as well as places I’ve been but want to go explore in different ways. I’ve been to:
Kansas, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Florida, Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, Iowa, Pennsylvania, West Virgin, Colorado, Oklahoma, California, New Mexico, Hawaii (Oahu), Kentucky, and Tennessee.
I want to go to:
Colorado (Vail), Louisiana (New Orleans), Alabama, the rest of the Hawaiian Islands, Alaska, Maine, Washington D.C., Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Utah, Wyoming, and Montana.
There are some states that I don’t have a burning desire to visit, and some areas that I only want to go to during a particular time, like Maine during the fall or to New Orleans close to Mardi Gras time. I hoping to get to Vail, Colorado this summer for the Mountain Games. I wanted to go last year, but it didn’t pan out. But this year is holding some real promise!
We are also wanting to back to Hawaii for our ten-year wedding anniversary next year, so seeing the other islands shouldn’t be too difficult. It’s just saving up the money to make it a reality.
And of course I want to travel to different places around the world. One of the top places I’d like to visit is India, especially when they are doing what I believe is the Holy Days festival. Other places include Spain, Greece, Italy, and England. Definitely Ireland as well.
I’m going to work very hard to make these dreams a reality, especially while I am young enough to enjoy everything.
