Vacation is Over…

And I’m only slightly sad. Nine days is a long time to be away from your own home. Even though I did get caught up on most of the picture editing I needed to do, I didn’t make a dent in the magazines that I brought and I only got to lay out like one day. Barely got any color at all on the rest of my body. Don’t worry though, I protected with sunscreen. You can still tan even though you use it, folks!

I did, however, get plenty of use out of my fishing permit that I bought, since we caught almost 30 fish on our trout lines. I also got to have lunch at Coconuts on the Lake, which is a really cool little restaurant/bar/beach-esque place a little ways up the lake from our cabin. I also logged almost 11 miles for the week. Which is awesome for me, considering I can’t manage to do that any other time. It was a nice way to jump back in to working out.

I probably should have run a little more, or gotten away from the cabin a bit by myself, because I did get a little bitchy. Just a little. But my shins weren’t having it, and I wasn’t about to push myself to hard. Plus, there was a huge, steep hill about a half-mile into the little loop I was using that totally kicked my ass every time I ran up it. And then I fell once coming back down the other side of the hill. All in all though, it was a pretty sweet vacation.

But I still need a couple more days to recover from being gone so long.

We came home yesterday, and I immediately started picking up the house, cleaning, and doing laundry. I made a decent dent in everything, but there is still a lot more to do. And then last night it was SO muggy in our house that I didn’t sleep very well. Or at least that’s how it feels.

Tonight, I’m looking forward to getting out and getting in a couple of miles when I get home. And then more cleaning. I also need to hit up the grocery store and decide on a menu plan for next month. So much to do, so little time. If you follow my instagram, then you saw lots of my vacation pictures. Trust me when I say that those are about the only ones that I took 😦 I didn’t get out with my camera too much over the course of vacation. Oh well, at least I had some fun!
