Stuck in a Rut

These last few months have been a little crazy-so I’ve been a little vacant from the blog here. Plus, I haven’t had much to say, or at least the energy to form a coherent post that would make sense. So my apologies.

As usual, I’ve been sucking ass as far as working out and eating well have been going. I honestly have a very difficult time finding motivation and sticking to a plan. I’m not 100% sure what it is that holds me back from doing so. I know where I want to be, and what I need to do to get there, but something is just standing in the way (yes I do realize that that something is ME, but I can’t quite figure out what mentally is holding me back).

It doesn’t help that I’ve been really tired lately. I have a doctor’s appointment a week from tomorrow, so I will be getting my bloodwork done and seeing if my thyroid is acting up or if it’s just me. Either way, he’s going to be disappointed because I’ve not lost any weight (not that I’ve been trying) and that stinks because I’d love to walk in there and surprise them. But I know I’m not going to get any where with out the work. Such a vicious cycle sometimes.

Today was the first day in a long time where I got up and didn’t have a snooze-fest on the sofa. Granted, I did wake up much later than planned because I didn’t set my alarm clock, but still. I didn’t fall asleep on the sofa, which is a major plus. I actually fixed my hair and packed my lunch and snacks, so high-five myself on that one. Baby steps folks.

I do know that a lot of the time, I simply look at everything I have to do and get/feel so overwhelmed by it all that even doing something that I enjoy seems like to much. Believe it or not, I actually love running and going to yoga, but I think about all the stuff I have to do at home or at work and it just mentally wears me out so much that I begin to feel physically worn out.

Enough of that nonsense. No more doom and gloom.

This weekend went by nicely. Friday night we had Margarita Friday and then stopped by this complete hole in the wall bar and hung out with my sister and some of her friends. The place was a legit dive bar. Saturday I woke up and started cleaning a little tiny bit, and then the dogs and I headed to my mom and dad’s house for pool day. My sister and a couple of her friends also came over, so we lounged in the sun and just hung out. It was fantastic. Later I packed up and headed home and went to the grocery store, where I stocked up on several healthy goodies, and of course the breakfast necessities.

Sunday was cleaning day around the house, but I kept getting sucked into the weird TV shows that were playing. There was some crazy stuff on! All in all, a slightly productive day.

Today at work, I’ve managed to not drink any soda! Woohoo on that! I did have some tea today and then a Naked Juice with my lunch, so it hasn’t been all water, but at least it’s a start. I’m hoping to make it out for a short run tonight, and then maybe some ab work before I finish up some chores around the house. I also have a few must do things that I need to get completed, so those will also take some precedence over some chores.
