Is more than likely the last week that I have to go see the chiropractor twice in a week! This is pretty exciting news, because it means I’m getting much better and can soon start working out and junk again! I’m so pleased 🙂
My shoulder area doesn’t really bother me any more, mostly only after sitting a while. I have really shitty posture, so I will need to focus on core work and correcting my posture if I want to be completely pain-free I’m sure.
In the mean time, I’ve been looking at Hal Higdon training plans. I’ve never really followed any type of training plan before, and everybody says his plans are some of the best to use, so I think I might give it a whirl to get back into running. My town always has a Turkey Trot each Thanksgiving, and I typically run it, so I’m hoping to do so again this year. If not-maybe I will try a different one. My town’s is pretty small, with no official timing or anything. It might be nice to try one of the bigger ones.
So, what’s been new with me? I’ve done a few exciting things.
A couple of weeks ago, M and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary. We both took Monday off and we went to the History museum, had lunch at Bixby’s, and then went to the Zoo. The History museum had several neat exhibits, including one of the 1904 World’s Fair. It’s crazy to think that all that stuff they had at that Fair actually was in Forest Park. Some of the set ups were so elaborate! Rumor has it that the Ferris Wheel from the Fair is still buried somewhere in the Park. But they haven’t been able to find it yet.
Bixby’s is located in the museum, and is kind of a fancy pants place. I had a burger and M had the brat, which was served sliced and without a bun. Then we headed over to the Zoo. I swear I am never going to the Zoo on a weekend again! Only during the week during the school year. It was so uncrowded that we were able to see parts of the Zoo we didn’t even know where there.
We watched the sea-lion feeding and the bear feeding and then on our way out, I adopted a lion and we got a membership to the Zoo! It was my anniversary gift. I love going to the Zoo! Sometimes I feel a little sad, for the animals, but at the same time, some animals may not exist if it weren’t for the zoos. Such a tricky, double-edged sword.
Other than those few things, I’ve mostly been hanging out. We did the Oktoberfest thing in historic St. Charles, which was fun, and then we celebrated a birthday here and there. M is doing harvest right now, so he’s pretty occupied at the moment. I found a place near by the does those wine & paint nights, called Painting with a Twist. I’m thinking about hitting up a class soon! I will let you know how that goes 🙂
In the mean time, I guess it’s back to drooling over races and training plans!
